The LAI Career Development Group are delighted to bring you this workshop – Introduction to Graphic Design in Canva! Hosted by Stephanie Chen, Digital Learning Specialist at UCC Library.
This workshop will take place online via Zoom on May 16th, at 6.30pm.
Whether you are creating posters for your event or conference, want to add style to your presentation, or need graphics for social media – this can all be done through Canva. Canva (https://www.canva.com) is a user-friendly, graphic design online platform that can be used for creating and styling anything from posters, presentations, social media, reports and more.
This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners or those hoping to get more out of Canva. In this workshop, you will learn about guidelines to follow, such as the basic principles of design and designing for accessibility. There will also be a demo on the user interface of Canva and how to navigate and use the online platform. A portion of the workshop will be dedicated to giving you time to create your own graphic in Canva so it is recommended you attend the workshop on a desktop computer or laptop.
The €5 fee for this event allows the LAI Career Development Group to provide further workshops or other free talks and seminars for librarians and MLIS students across Ireland.
